Origi, who spent the last season on loan at Premier League side Nottingham Forest, had a nightmare outing in England. He appeared in 22 matches across all competitions and managed to clock just 754 minutes on the pitch. He had scored once and provided as many assists in the entire campaign. At the end of the 2023/24 season, the former Liverpool star returned to AC Milan, however, club adviser and legendary forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has now confirmed that the player has been banished from the first-team squad.

Speaking to reporters ahead of a new season, Ibrahimovic said, "Divock Origi and Fodé Ballo-Toure are not part of our plans. They will be part of the youth team as they’re not included in our project."

The former Sweden international also confirmed that the Rossoneri are officially out of the race to sign Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee who is on his way to join Manchester United this summer.
Speaking about the Dutch forward, Ibrahimovic said, "Zirkzee? It’s the past for us. We already have the new striker in mind but I’m not gonna tell you the name."
